It's time to move on...

I have been doing a lot of thinking, and soul searching (a hard task, as I've got 3 souls due to poor friends selling their souls to me for a beer!), I've decided it's time to leave SGTA so I don't fill a spot someone else could use better. There has been too little time for me to play lately, and thus I haven't been able to meet the criteria of at least one lesion a week, and I'm sure someone new and eager will be able to use this spot a lot better than me.

Do not think that you've gotten rid of me though, as I'll keep hanging around in Academy HQ, and I will nag you all for toons just as much as I do now.

When I joined SGTA, I had less than 200 battles under my belt. I was eager to learn, and anxious because in other games if you're brand new, nobody plays with you until you've reached "end game". Not so in SGTA! People have been tooning with me since I only owned tier 2 tanks, and I really appreciate that! I have a few favourites to toon with, and I'm going to keep tooning with you even if I've no longer got the SGTA clan tag.

Now, montyburns (or Dong760) has been working behind the scenes to make me leave SGTA and join him on whatever adventures he's planning, and I must say the temptation got the upper hand. So, when I log in today (in a couple of hours) it's the last time with the SGTA tag.

Ding and the rest of the instructors: You guys rock! (rancid, you can punk instead of rock if you want!)
All my mates in SGTA: You guys rock too!
New members of SGTA: Eventually you'll rock too! (Just kidding, you rock automatically just by joining SGTA!)

But the real reason I posted in this thread is: Looking to sell some of those souls, perhaps? I happen to be a soul collector myself. Cheapest one I've gotten had the price of half a cookie.
Should any religion happen to be right, I'll be royally screwed unless I got something to bargain with!

Sorry mate, the two extra souls I have are getting well worn by now. I use one of those every time I do something bad, so my own soul is pure as snow.  

Pfft, it's not like I wanted those souls, anyway. They're probably Norwegian, only Swedish souls are worth less than those!  

Yeah, the current trade is 3:1. Three Swedish souls for one Norwegian.

Yeah, I'm sorry Ding, but I've been feeling that I sit in a place someone else could use better. I mean, I'm not a pro, but the skills and tactics I've learned in SGTA makes me one of the better players. If somebody else can learn half the things I've learned, they'll be good players too.
And I'm not going to be a stranger! I'll be rollin' and trollin' with y'all in the future as well

Be careful all taking this perspective.

The reasons to join are that ppl in here would like to learn from others, therefore it is easily a balance pupil and teachers in same clan. If we are all a bunch of half-wits trying to control a tank ingame, the reason to be in clan diminishes.

I feel it is important that there is a mix of experienced players willing to teach along with players willing to learn (experienced or not).

The less obvious "what is in it for me" to join a clan is to bathe in the glory of the good players.
Otherwise the clans badge is like being in a supermarket and the cashier has a badge on his shirt saying "On the job training - be patient with me please". Which line do you choose?

If it is important to have more openings, consider the "SGTA-Alumni" clan as an alternative with a flowing line between the two...

While I understand that point of view,I do think that wanting to learn should be the main driving force behind a person's motivation to join this clan. Wether or not they have a lot of glory to bask in should not really be important.

As for the secondary clan: I know the idea has been proposed before but apparently not deemed acceptable. In any case as long as people log into Academy HQ they can play with old members and friends of the clan, all of whom are very established players.

Me personally don't have any glory for others to bask in but I am starting to feel like I have overstayed my welcome due to the fact that so many people understandably wish to join SGTA and I'm actively blocking one of them from achieving that.

Unless someone of the instructors corrects me on that I feel like I have the basics down with my main issue being positioning and feeling for the game, especially in mediums. These are things of experience and only learned individually over time. Hence I'm not sure wether it would be right of me to take up a spot for much longer. sometimes I must accept my own limitations, knowing they'll be
temporary.

All in all I feel annoyed by the fact that I'm actively recommending the clan to people while actively blocking their entry at the same time. for those people it must be very frustrating.

Brainfarter has a point though.

As any group cycles, we are currently going through a bit of an exodus. It is slowly reaching the point where most of the active more experienced members are leaving to free up spots for others. Daily platooning with good players can be as valuable a teaching tool as participating in the lessons.

I would like to ask for whom exactly? The clan may be full, but I have been playing quite a lot lately and I can safely say there are about 30 active players out of those 95-100...where is the other 2/3? (This is not meant as an accusation towards clan leadership or less visible members, I am sincerely wondering)

That said, this is probably a discussion for another thread. If you feel you must leave, you must leave  

Dont worry, non actives are slowly being purged from SGTA. It's not fair on the guys on the waiting list.
