Actually, I think maps are on the shelf just now - there will be other map specific classes coming I'm told, so really it's a choice between the first and last option.

Basics of scouting and scout-vs-scout combat cannot possibly be done properly in one session.

Scout-vs-scout combat by itself is one hell of a session if you want to done properly.
