Do we need Junior TC?
Junior TC?
Hi there,
Now that medium TC's are on again but restricted to higher tiers and "preferred" tanks or SPG' s, I wondered if there is some base among the members who have not yet reached tier 6 or do not own the required armour, for an organized Junior TC?
If there a number of players who consider it fun and like to get used to organized play (more or less) please respond.
Junior Tank Company
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Total tier level : minimum 20 pts - maximum 40 pts
Artillery level : 2-3
Tank destroyer level : 2-3
Light tank level : 1-3
Medium tank level : 2-4
Heavy tank level : 4

Re: Junior TC?
Ironicly I voted here despite me not owning any low tiers, not low enough even for medium TCs.

Re: Junior TC?
I have both, lower and higher tiers (but not developed enough for our Medium TC), so I'm open for every initiatives. It would be nice to play together in larger group, do some "not-that-pro-yet" tactics and stuff

Re: Junior TC?
I recently watched a clan playing junior tc on twitch and this was really fun to watch. All fast tanks, looked like moving and attacking of light cavalry. So could be a nice addition to med tc.
I am not quite sure what was meant with 'random', but I think it won't work without an experienced fc and the tc rules as described in the TC thread. I have probably no adequate tanks for junior tc but would get one for it.

Thank you for the response! With random as mentioned in the poll I mean an Junior TC initiated by an Academy member with premium account. At any time by anybody. No official Acadamy teaching involved.

Re: Junior TC?
I'd really like it to be more about fun than the proper procedures included in Medium TCs in the academy. While I have nothing against good performance and tactics, sometimes it's nice to play for fun just with people you know well in the academy without being overly concious of your performance (while pwning n00bs) You know....just relaxing...

Re: Junior TC?
I would be up for this even if I will have to buy a tier 4 again unless derp hetzers are ok (1 shot kill anyone lol)
It would also be a good opportunity for new fc's to hone their skill with no pressure.
Could be a fun thing for mid week or sunday day times or both?

Re: Junior TC?
Drat, I voted the first option but didn't notice the 'only'.
I think it would be fun to start with an experienced commander but if other people would like to command later on I'm all for it. The more the merrier.

Re: Junior TC?
I would like this and have the low tiers to back it up but am realistically limited to week-ends only, I usually work until after midnight. (though with the coming of pz I C I fear to just run into a lot of these and that's not really fun :-/ )

Re: Junior TC?
Trololol The PZ I C stuggles even against most Tier 4s.
it's still a hell of a lot of fun to play though, the speed, ROF and mobility are insane.

Re: Junior TC?
boooo! oh well will have to get the american tier 3 with gold derp instead
Still I always have my mighty s35 which always does well in tier 3 battles and I have most tier 3's unlocked so can always buy another tank just for the junior tc games.

Could an optimal team layout be written down maybe? That way at least I'd know if my tanks would fit. :-)

Re: Junior TC?
Certainly for arty the best two are the Bison at tier 2 or the SU26. The Su26 has a disadvantage of short range, but its deadly accurate and fully pimped out (like mine) it's capable of devastating Tier 4 tanks.
OFC, Bison has insane dmg with Premium ammo, but tbh its not needed for Junior TC.

Re: Junior TC?
That's one td I'd not take and i still play it regularly. :-\ slow t to aim, slow to drive, slow to load, big bloom when even moving gun thus negating it's wide arc advantage.
Imho su-76 is the bomb equipped: accurate, fast ride, fast traverse and a machine gun when used with a rammer. It has no troubles taking out tier 6 tanks over long distances either.

Happy to take your word on that Harald - I haven't taken it out much post the last nerf and have likely forgotten how bad it is these days
Can always get a SU if need be.

Re: Junior TC?
Don't worry too much about the type of armour. Or the tier. It's no medium TC with more or less "prescribed" tanks. It should be more of an opportunity to learn and get used to a bigger team and teamplay with more players. For everybody who'd like to try, and have some fun too.
At least that is how I'd like to play it.

Re: Junior TC?
In the matches I saw on twitch the prefered tanks were T2 light (as scout), Luchs, Pz. III and su-26. This was before 8.4 was released and the Luchs moved to tier 4. One team that raped almost all enemy teams didn't had arty at all and was simply moving too fast to make a target for enemy arty. TDs rarely appeared, same as slow tanks in general. Those teams consisting of a too heterogeneous set of fast and slow tanks usually didn't manage to concentrate their fire power at a specific part of the map and were outflanked.

Re: Junior TC?
Now that the poll will expire in an hour or two I'd like to thank all of you who took the trouble of casting his/her vote and/or leaving his/her thoughts on the topic.
24 votes so far which isn't bad at all I guess, one voter couldn 't care less , 23 thinks Junior TC deserves a chance.
Now I am no teacher nor staff, also not fit to lead maybe even lesser to follow , I just initiated 'cause I thought it could be entertaining and rewarding in lessons learned.
I think some further initiative will come from the staff (I have spoken with Vallu ) regarding a timetable and organization of the primary sessions.
Because of my busy family life and my working in shifts it is not at all sure that I will participate as often as I'd like to. This is not due to unwillingness or loss of interest.
Thank you all for your kind support.
