PointyHairedJedi - Scouts and Heavies
For some reason, I have become an SGTA instructor. More signs of the coming Apocalyse shall be forthcoming shortly.
My areas of instruction shall be:
- Scouting topics, and some additional light tank topics
- How to use armour effectively (angling, sidescraping &etc.)
- Using and abusing slow tanks (300+ battles in an AMX40, baby!)
First and foremost I like armoured heavy tanks, even in these days of gold-for-credits ammo; from my first days playing, when I saw how much armour the low tier French tanks had, I knew these were the tanks for me. And then of course came my first love, the KV-1... These days I've branched out more, though artillery and tank destroyers are still my least played tanks, and I've learned to appreciate that sometimes speed makes good armour too, especially that scouting can be jolly good fun, and certainly the best way to ruin an arty players' day!
All that said, you'll take my KV-4 from my cold, dead hands.
If you ever want advice, feel free to ask anything, though clearly some things I'll know better than others. Aside from lessons, feel free ask to arrange a platoon or for some individual training - I spend a good few hours streaming these days, so please don't be offended if I'm not available for either at any given moment.
Above all, have fun, and be excellent to one another!

I didn't even realise that was up on Jingles' channel until someone pointed that out to me.
One of my last games in the ARL v39 too, I wasn't sad to see it go...

Re: PointyHairedJedi - Scouts and Heavies
Here's a good a place to announce as any, that I left the SGTA clan today. But don't panic (because obviously your lives would be empty and hollow without me, I realise ), I'm still an instructor, and I'll still be hanging around in the Academy HQ channel. I actually planned to leave at the start at this month, but then the CW special event was announced so it seemed worth being around that bit longer for that.
I hereby direct any complaints and/or calls of "traitor" to Wasp and montyburns.

To paraphrase Sapaki. We wholeheartedly understand and support your decision.

We wish you all the best, and may the clan that you will join break up and disolve just like the clans of the other traitors who left the clan did (true story!). One even went to two clans after leaving SGTA. Both clans broke up and divided, and in one of them the Commander left the clan!

Didn't expect that . Sorry to see you leave the clan, but I'll still see you in Academy HQ chat or some SGTA activities.

Re: PointyHairedJedi - Scouts and Heavies
Obviously I'm now unable to see what it contains, but I'm just going to assume it's a great big delicious cake, to symbolize just how awesome I am.Vallu01 wrote:Only those in SGTA may open the following spoiler.

In other, "that escalated quickly" news, I'm now a clan commander.
It's almost like any old noob can make a clan these days!

I shall make sure to carry on all the fine, fine traditions involving people giving me cookies.
Re: PointyHairedJedi - Scouts and Heavies
Now it makes perfect sense to me! Whenever you become an instructor, you have to find a new clan. OK. Let me start my search ASAP.

Re: PointyHairedJedi - Scouts and Heavies
Mr Jedi,
A question if I may, It has been my misfortune now to come across a few exSGTA members in solo randoms, always as an enemy. I would love to inquire as the correct etiquite for dispatching, said ex-members. Would you prefer a quick 'one-shot' approach or my favourite...the hunt and slow, drawn out, humiliating death? (this has happened 3 times so far by the way, each time.... it was me that was hunted down by the ex-member, so there is some element of truth in this question!)
Seriousley, sad to see that you left but happy you are still around..

Re: PointyHairedJedi - Scouts and Heavies
Andy, I believe the required etiquette is to call them "noob" a lot, then if at all possible, ammo rack them. Or drown them, that works too.
I am still around, it's just my net has been seriously screwy for a few weeks not, and it's interfering badly with my ability to play WoT - hence not being around much.
Also no-one ever brings me cookies.
