To be self forgiven.
Okay, I'm giving in. Let my head drop. Looking at my toes now.
After three weekends in a row playing solo and having the most possible difficulty of winning just 49% of the battles I fought inspite of doing the best I can, dealing considerable damage and most of the times ending in the top 5 teamscore, I found out ( I am so smart ) weekends are not for solo randoms.
Something that has been told to me numerous times by you boys and girls but it's hard to teach a Dinosaur a new trick.
So......., instead of ignoring or bluntly refusing platoon invites I will reluctantly accept them in the future, IN THE WEEKENDS that is.
Please feel free to invite me in weekends or specials and holidays, I'll be there!
Now I shall be going back in my corner of the room with my back against the radiator and overthink the inevitable goodbye to Lonewolf Emric.

Hmpf there's nothing wrong with being a lone wolf. It only means more prey for yourself. As long as you completely devastate the enemy, who cares if you have a low win rate? You affect the battle as 1/30, over 95% of the matchup is out of your hands. If you want to hone individual skills, stay as a lone wolf, because platooning and playing with teammates makes you depending on them.
For me, it makes more sense to first become a great individual player to form the base of a good team player, as remember, don't trust anyone on the battlefield.
The ally you just called for to help you might just wait behind your butt just to pop his turret in front to take the last shot to kill an enemy.

It's (supposed to be) team vs team, so nothing wrong making it little easier to play as a team

even the lone wolf can travel in wolf-pack, it doesn't diminish his stature nor soften his teeth. I love platooning for 2 reasons:
1) I'm pretty much assured they're will be a sliver of strategy involved in the game, which makes it more fun to play and gives higher chance to win
2) just watching your better platoon mates on the minimap alone, gives a ton of clues on how to play, different roles and all that. Watching their actual tank is an even bigger bonus.
edit: oh yes and the social aspect, it's more fun to share things, even if it's a(hard-)fought defeat.
