Ok think I might be falling in love with tank destroyers, just had this game in Jagdtiger 88 and it was only enough to get 3rd class mastery!

How is the JT 8.8 to play and make money with ?

I need to replace my now defunct SuperPershing with something which can take a few hits and deal some damage. I've narrowed it down to a T34, JT 8.8 or the FCM 50T. Any advice ?

got a JT8.8. still trying to find my role on the battlefield. Generates cash but IMHO hard to play (so far didn't cash that much with it because of this)

Best advice I can give is play like an arty, stay out of sight whenever possible, you have an accurate gun so use it. Use camo net and train your crew camo skills, you're camo isnt amazing because the jagdtiger is big, but you can still remain undetected at distance. Hide your LFP if possible (superstructure is bouncy) and always have a fire extinguisher onboard! The reload is amazing, so keep pumping shells at the enemy, if you keep bouncing, just keep them permatracked for your teammates/friendly arty. I successfully kept a T95 tracked until our arty finished him off

I recommend carying around 10 - 15 APCR rounds for shooting heavily armoured tier 9s, use standard ammo for the rest (so you make nice creds). Trickiest opponents you generally face are the T9 and that fucking IS6 which seems to bounce everything (unless I'm driving). IS-3s are generally okay because your accurate gun allows sniping of the little 'ears'

Playing the ISU taught me some good TD principles (the ISU has zero armour). It also taught me the value of 6th sense, you really dont want to be spotted in a TD if enemy arty is on the field.

As to this over other tier 8 premiums. I can honestly say I've played all ther tier 8 premiums bar the Type 59, and this has been the most fun by far. As long as you stay at the back you can make some nice damage. 1500 dmg nets you about 70-80k credits depending on how many gold shells you used

I have a new love for tank destroyers, and this beauty will train a crew to go into the Ferdinand (when I grind it).

I can highly recommend that you pick up a SU-122-44 "assault TD" if you haven't already.

Definitely a cursed tank for me, but then all the supposed 'OP' stuff is, T29, KV1S, IS3 etc.

When I first picked it up I had a WR around 35% and hated it too - probably as I tried to play it like a German (derr).

Having now experimented a bit on the TS, together with the new accuracy buff, I think it's a great bit of kit and now have a better idea of how it is best played. I'm currently running with prem cammo (good basic cammo), vents and EGLD.

The MM isn't grreat (it sees T9 quite a bit so some prem ammo is reqired) but it's well worth having another go on the TS to see if you like the accuracy changes.

I think you may be right about the KV1S . I keep trying to lose by loading only HE but it wont work
