Basic Arty [Completed]

Basic arty, mainly concentrating on life after 8.6.

I will particularly be concentrating on map awareness and the importance of pre-aiming,

Instructors, please bring some tanks so we can conclude with attempting to shoot moving targets in the post-arty nerf world, which should be interesting.

TS will be used for comms.

"Post-arty nerf" world is world without arty. Funny how players do not complain as much about TDs parties, as they did about arties. Yet the progress of battle is usually same. All camp and side with better scout win.
But enough whining, I can bring some tanks to shoot at (heavy, meds, T5-T9) or from (I still have 3 arties in garage T4 (french), and two T6 (M44 and Su-8 )).
Especially the self defense part became tricky, as you have now mostly 1 shot.

Id be up for this, I quite like arty but im only a casual player with them after 8.6. All i have in my garage right now is the t5 105LeFH and the turreted panzer, i l thing T4? (any how both are awesome little arties.

If we need higher tier, I have a couple of crews and several T7 reasearched, but not bought.

This is a basic course, no self defense will be taught (thats the advanced stuff). You are right though, it got a lot harder to go TD after the patch.

Any tier artillery is fine, its more for principles and practice than anything else. Cheaper arties have cheaper shell costs (pro tip)

you can join part way through, let me know when online, but you might miss some stuff (I wont hold the class up to explain the things you missed)

There is a lot of melodrama regarding arties, my opinion is that some were nerfed into uselessness (but will probably be rebuffed later) whilst some are still very playable, I will expand a little on this in the lesson.

Definitely need help with playing arty, I'll be there.

As usual I forgot to distinguished basic/advanced stuff, when it comes to arties.

Yep, we (old-arty players) have only to adapt to new mechanics. After another hundred(s) or so, battles, we will probably forget, how it worked before the change and get used to it.

Not sure if i can make it but i will try to take part in that class.

Sign me up! I never got much joy out of playing arty, but getting better at it might help (determined to one day finish the German line at least).

Installing my new SSD did not go according to plan. Going through a fresh install atm, so might not be fully up and running in time as I have some other things to attend to as well today.

I did not play arty since 8.5. I will join you guys but only if I don't take away someone's spot. And I only have the Grille and Hummel. But I think it would be interesting to see what changed because I only know that a lot of people are complaining in the chat and forums

Thanks Dong, I must say the point that stood out the most for me is where to actually aim... I normally stick the crosshair on the engine bay all of the time, not behind the tank. I took the pz out this morning and yes, this tip has definietly inceared my hit count. Thanks again, and ill definitely by joining the advance course if and when you get the chance.
