In Game Nickname: Dannyboy321
Country: England
Age: 18
Usable Languages: English, Basic level of German and French
Previous Clan: N/A
Favorite Type Of Tanks (Heavy, Medium, Light... ): ... Not enough experience to decide yet
Tanks Owned : ... Except the ones one starts with, the Pz.Kpfw. I
Win Rate : ... 42% (Certainly looking to improve that)
Match Played : ... 77
How did You hear about SGTA?: Google
Why are you applying to SGTA: (you need to develop your answer a bit here. Simply writing "because I want to improve" will not cut it any more. Look at it as a mini-covering letter convincing us as to why we have to recruit you)
I wanted to find the best possible place for me to become a better teamplayer and have fun, and i think i have found the place here. I am a quick learner and also like to teach others once i am more proficient. I enjoy working well in a team, with mutual respect and i look forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks for your time.

Re: Application
Hello Danny,
I am the admissions officer of the clan. We greatly appreciate your interest in our clan, the only problem is that you need to have at least 1k battles before you join the clan. There are many resons for this. The first is that you need to get some experience on your own from the game in order to grasp and understand some very basic concepts by yourself, which are not covered by our curiculum.
The second reason is that what is taught here applies above Tier V tanks, we would therefore like our students to have at least a couple of Tier V and/or a couple of Tier VI tanks in their garage prior to joining the clan. Most things that are tought in the clan, mostly apply above Tier V.
I will gladly accept your application once you have hit the 1k battles milestone. when you do so, there is no need to create a new application topic, just send a reply on this one notifying us that you have the battlecount required and I will send you an invite for the clan.
Don't worry, if you like this game, you will hit the 1k battles before you know it. Just make sure you enjoy the game!
Hope to see you soon!
Regards,
Sapaki

Re: Application
Thanks for the reply. I am going on holiday by the way for 17 days I think tomorrow, and will not have Wi-Fi during that period, but expect me to come raring back to go after i get back, and will make sure to come back here once i've reached the necessary requirements.
Any very quick tips for the game and also, do you know if there is a way to reduce the lag i experience when going into sniper mode, or is it simply my laptop can't handle it well enough. ( i've turned graphics, textures e.t.c to lowest possible settings, and my laptop is the sort of laptop to struggle with games like WoT, surprised it copes so well).
Thanks

Re: Application
Yep framerate drops during sniper mode is a characteristic of weak pcs. I also play on a weak laptop and I get drops in snipermode sometimes. As you will notice, framerate is sometimes map dependent as some maps are better optimised than others.
Now if you need tips ingame, pm me when you see me online and I can see if I can arrange a small crashcourse for you.

Re: Application
Just bought the Pz . I. C (daang it's fast). Obviously it's a scout, was wondering how i could find information/tips about the maps i could play in as well as the tanks i'm up against. Already I can see that most of the tanks have armor strong enough to deflect most, if not all of my shots. Thanks for any help

Re: Application
Tazilon's scouting guide is one of the best ones around, it does not only cover the maps but also deals with some general mechanics and tips
Here his post from the official forum: http://forum.worldoftanks.eu/index.php?/topic/107182-tazilons-complete-proscout-guide-with-maps-v86-some-qualifying-scores-for-the-hall-of-fame-adjusted/

Hi!
The PzKpfw 1 c is a fun tank.
Our forum here has a tank guides section with a guide for tips on this tank and what to do against some of it's opponents:

Re: Application
Do just found some wi-fi for mt phone on holiday and was wondering whether the 1k battle limit seemed a little high especially considering I've only done less than 100 so far and it'll take me a while...

Re: Application
Be patient, once you get in the game you will see that 1k battles is not that hard to get. Just play and enjoy the game and you will get there before you know it.
We are not requiring 1k battles for no reason. You will find out that the game has some steep learning curves, but you need first to hit them before being able to understand what is required to overcome them.

you can get a mod that removes the scope effect in sniper mode, this will increase your FPS.

oh Dannyboy...... have you done that 1000 games yet, we are getting rather impatient, and frankly, we bore easily. Get your finger out, get some reading done, watch the youtube tutorials.....many of which are SGTA's own by the way. If so get that message in saying.....' o7 ive taken the first 1000 steps and i know where t opoint my gun and i even know to shoot the red tanks, i have the right attitude to learn and I even have my first T6 tank. Re: Application
So i'm wondering which heavy and medium paths i want to follow? I was thinking for heavy the Americans but for the supposedly better path, the T57, the only heavy in the path is the T57.. as for the mediums not sure, perhaps the British line? Any thoughts/comments?

Re: Application
Hi Dannyboy!
@Heavyies I don't know if i could give a good advice my first try now is going the russian heavies thru the path
KV-1, KV-1s, IS, IS-3 and so on.
So possibly someone with a bit more experience can help you more on this.
@Mediums especially british:
Even if i know start to enjoy some of them I would not recommend it as a starting medium line. Why: the grind to
the first interessting tank (in my opinion Cromwell) is a bit painful and the Cromwell has again in my opinion a
different playstyle to other mediums because of it's not as good armor but decent mobility. The rest as far as I can
say is hard to play (at least for me ;-) ). Starting to play the Comet now I am getting familiar with tier 7 more but it not an easy tank. The Centurion I am to stupid to play so i don't try it at the moment ;-).
The german medium line is ok as far as I have gone there now (will start playing the fully equipped and upgraded VK 36.01h on this weekend). So possibly our more experienced members may have the on or other suggestion for mediums but in my opinion if I
would start the game again I would not go for british mediums as first one as I did there have to be easier ways.
