When wet fingers rub the edge of the glasses, the pressure causes the film of water to appear and go away again, as if the finger stutters across the surface, much like how a violin bow makes the strings vibrate. The volume inside the glasses determine how much force is required for them to "vibrate", thus creating different frequencies based on the "immoveability" of the glass, aka weight. The vibration is of course, causes the air to have interchanging pressure that vibrates the tymphanic membrane whom in turn opens up the ion chanels in the cochlea that sends action potential to our brain.
