weekend special nightmare

it had to happen on a 5x didn't it? i got placed with seriously god awful mm, one game they had six more heavies than us, i know its supposed to be weighted so we get 'better' med but seriously 2 centurions vs 4 t29? then it was the teams from hell. normally i wouldn't be that bothered, it hapens. but last night it kept happening. one game we lost 3-15 and i'd killed the 3.
in nearly every game my team had one afk and one of them had three! ran out of reports!!
so 40% last night and lucky to get that much.
really cross to have missed out on the special. hoe you guys did better, saw some good results in the chat

I focused solely on the tanks im grinding at the moment, so per definition non-elited tanks which i am not accustomed to play. I ended up approximately around the 40% mark too.

I have suggested on the official forums that a calendar is made to check the current events on the exact date.
As it is now, the missions and specials are so clustered it doesnt feel like an effort or a target to go for - there simply isnt an overview of what is active.

I tend to just notice some bonus, and then go check the website to see what i have achieved. That cannot be the way missions and specials should work. It should be something to strive for.

Luckily its my wedding-anniversary this weekend so i have no intentions on playing much.

Btw. when does the 50% reduction on consumables come?!?!

not sure about consumables but equipment was on sale, bought 4 binocs and some vents at half price

I managed three games yesterday before I decided that a 5x bonus, special event and cheap gear combination was really bringing out the, well, I have lost the descriptive power to cover the teams I had. Suffice to say mt tier 5 T49 was in a Redshire standard battle with 7 tier 7 per side and I had the most damage on either side, 2 kills, 2nd best exp in the whole game and still lost....the sevens on my team folded faster than my local dry cleaners does.

Platooning and playing strong flexible tanks is the only way to go during these events. Had a pretty decent night yesterday including a great comeback game with PHJ and Behemoth

Well i have had a better afternoon today....5/8 but it is time tyo stop after 2 tier eight collapses with my t-34-85. The poor thing is just getting T8 after T8 after T8 which makes it very tough to swing a battle......so i will stop while i am up and go for a nice walk!

Yesterday was the worst day for me since I started again. I became so pissed I had to leave the platoon and I vaguely remember ranting random depressing stuff in clanchat. Sorry for that.

Anyway, going strong again today. Now with beer! Must be better.

I played tiers 1-6 only to get my x5. had great win rate and above average battle performances.

I think it really is hit or miss with the MM.

Only T3/4 but ended up with a 73% win rate on about 20 games. No doubt the MM will swing the other way...... 

I have to be honest, yesterday was beyond compare.

You can tell when teams are particularly bad, and it's abundantly clear that they have no idea what they are doing.  

I give you the example of....  Sand river, a map we all know so well.  So at tier 8, in a game where we had a couple TD and no mediums, from the south, TEN heavy tanks - count it, TEN, decided to going up over the mountain on the 0 line was a good idea.

I was the team's sole arty and had a god view of the whole debacle.

I have taken to checking wrs of players after matches when it's that bad.  It seems to be more common than statistics can possibly explain that the rest of my team is on a sub 50%wr.  And of course, the opposition has nearly all of their top tier tanks at 52%+.

Yesterday was the closest I've got to emo rage quitting.  It was truly dismal.  If this continues I will certainly take a break from tanks, and come back to it when I can stomach such stupidity.

There IS something truly fucked up with the match making.

I wonder if it would be possible for wargaming to somehow offer a more hardcore mode or a seperate server hive for players who want more challenge/ higher standards.

Challenge increases with tiers. Just go for a tier 10 tank.

Yup - weirdly I'd say the higher the tier, the more team dependent it is. It's a VERY rare game at tier 9 where you hold the game on your own.

Probably to do with the hit points, lesser speed, more accurate guns, more experienced players, and fact that the tanks are just damn bigger. And OC the lower RoF.

hmm hardcore? how about, you buy a tank and crew, equip it. but if it gets destroyed its all gone? no? too much. maybe if the crew member gets killed, thats it. and no med packs.have to start traing a new one

I didn't do too bad at all. I concentrated on finally getting the obj704 and upgraded. It took me 18 x5 games and I had a 61% win rate. The bad news is, I do t like the obj!
Some 3-15's as well as 15-3's so MM sucks but also so good battles
