Special Lesson - Situational Awareness
Due to a request made, I will host a special class that deviates from the standard courses offered.
Class will be on 26th Feburary at 20:00 according to the forum clock, give or take 10 minutes. A training room will be created with the description 'SGTA Situational Awareness'.
I apologize for this short notice but it's the only time I am certain I will be online, because I have a constantly changing work schedule.
I have chosen situational awareness due to the frankly appalling degree of situational awareness failures I see while constantly platooning with SGTA members. To be able to use the information available to you in-game and more importantly to use that information to predict what will happen is an invaluable asset to your arsenal of guns and minds.
This is a practical lesson, performed through a training room. NO Teamspeak used, I will be typing in-game, and NO reading materials supplied for this lesson BEFORE the lesson, because I wish to use a different teaching method which will see students performing rather than theorizing.
Arrive with expectation of being around for at least 3 matches. Minimum of 6 players required for lesson, any lower than 6 and the lesson cannot go ahead due to its practical nature. Tier 4-6 tanks preferred.
Good day! Carry on!
P.S: Reply to this thread if you intend on attending. This way I have a good count of the numbers of people going to see if the lesson can go ahead or not.

One of my biggest bugbears with randoms in or out of platoons is a complete lack of situational awareness.
I work on the usually over-optimistic presumption that if I'm the lead tank in an attack then those behind are selflessly covering my flanks and vice versa but I swear they turn the minimap off and drive zoomed in on me!

I believe this lesson should be able to address that.

Re: Special Lesson - Situational Awareness
I'll try to remind myself being there tomorrow, severe lack of situational awareness is what makes me really sad in at least half of my random games if not more. Thumbs up for offering lessons on overall the best skill required to succeed in randoms and as a team player!
EDIT: BTW, if you remember, you've promised it to me like half a year ago, before your trip to china, after you have posted some replays on Himmelsdorf. That's what I call about time!

Re: Special Lesson - Situational Awareness
I would be very interested in the lesson. Please count me in.
I lose my situational awareness due to a diagnosed illness called JOMS. The full medical term is 'Just One More Shot'. I loose track of what is going on arround me and get fixated by the next shot.

Re: Special Lesson - Situational Awareness
Something I'd love to be more comfortable with. Maybe these lessons will let me recognise correct timing. Too many times I realised the moment for decisive action was gone by the time I assesed the situation. Also realising that friendly base is in peril usually comes a bit late to my brain so there are times I just manage to decap, but in a very unfavorable position which gives the opponent( s ) the chance to kill me within a few moments after decap, leaving the enemy in a good position to restart capping.
Count me in please.

Re: Special Lesson - Situational Awareness
This seems like it's gonna be a sold-out event if everybody who expresses interest attends. I forgot to mention to you guys this particular lesson will be shared with the wider WoT community because I originally thought not many will attend.
Naturally SGTA members get priority so you guys will not have a problem getting a place, although some general public players might be unhappy. Still, in order for me to make sure everybody is treated according to procedure...do try to be there on time. I know this may sound hypocritical considering I gave myself leeway of 10 minutes but just to be on the safe side...
