This lesson is going to be about using your armor to the best you can.
https://sgta.forumotion.com/t119-academy-curriculum
TS3 used as always
If you like to take part sign up here and please also state the highest-tier heavy tank that you have, since I want you guys to practice a bit and get an overlook over the tanks that are usable for that.

I'm a definite maybe for this one. Want to join, but...wine festival this Sunday.
Have KV-4 & 3 available.
And a TOG ... but I don't think anything other than barrel-scraping can help that...

Like i said, if you could state some of your heavy tanks in your garage(highest tier possible), its easier for me to plan the tanks that we are going to use.glooscap wrote:I'll be there.

Tiger and IS are the highest tanks I have.

I'd like to join as an observer, as all my heavy tanks are on the NA server.

Sign me up if there is a spot left. I'll bring along T14 or T29, maybe T32 if more appropriate.

i was late
i know that making angle with is3 was mistake but if we are in city map and there is a enemy behind the corner how should we go out of corner?
with turrnet in front and normal nose ( like ARL ) we make a angle when showing hull ( for
when using back torrent tank ( like muse ) we show our side in corner like this
but how should we show our tank in is3 and the pike nose tank?

Personally I just drive the IS-3 straight frontally towards the corner of the wall. Usually you need to leave a small gap of your other side of your pike nose front in IS-3 but your enemy's accuracy should not be good enough to penetrate that.zed22 wrote:

Truth be told, IS-3 does not need cover frontally as much as the likes of Tiger II and KV-4, as it's front is quite impressively sturdy with the pike nose angled correctly (which is none ta all).
That... or else you can try to reverse-angle your tank (i.e: sticking your ass to the wall corner and your turret to the rear like the Maus in your picture). But this is highly risky as most times people can't do it correctly.

sorry for the late reply zed.
about the is3 ding is absolutely correct, you should face the enemy frontally, because you cant do it like the maus in the picture, that doesnt reveal anything of its lfp, the is3 is always going to show some of his pikenose if you try to do it like the maus.
Oh and i cant recommend revers angling for randoms, because it can get you into trouble quickly but it can be effective though,

Hi!
Sorry for the late "thanks for that lesson" but thanks for the lesson was very interessting.
In general I also find normal sidescrapping not that easy in randoms because you need "your own" corner for that. But I got the chance several times to do so so far.

I get your point Ronin but actually that's probably not as hard as you think it is.RoninRage wrote:Hi!

Did you know you can make your own ally (who is hogging your corner) as the corner? Sure, he'll take damage but you won't! Also, moving objects such as friendly (or in a lot of my cases) slowly moving enemy tanks are also great 'corners' to hide behind! You just have to 'keep up' with your corners sometimes
