Artillery has been avoided by many since the major changes to its play-style in 8.6

However, it can still be rewarding and help push your team to victory.

This class is intended to cover the basics of artillery, and then some of the more interesting theory.

1) Types of artillery and effective play-style:
 a) - Short range assault artillery such as the St Pz II
 b) - Turreted Artillery - Long Range
 c) - Narrow gun arc artillery - Long Range

2) Positioning and usual spots

3) Use of the handbrake!

4) Leading and Lagging targets on inclines

5) Counter-battery fire

6) Ammunition and Equipment

7) Useful mods

Hmm it looks like I still have much to learn about SPGs. Since I do not know what point 4 exactly means

Question: Is there a plan to teach people about arty spots on different maps, maybe in following lections? As I can say, the advices on Wikipedia do not cover all spots. And many maps have also changed a bit. Plus there are new maps, which are not covered at all.

I guess you play more arty than anyone of us hehe - Maybe I got 4 Tier 10 artys but I played 10 times arty since the ugly nerf - sad but true -
And I guess its a lesson for beginners Daeworn noob bXXXh

I meant it not for me, but for beginners with arty (and I am still learning new spots, even on old maps, every arty is different). In other words, if someone will be really interested to keep playing arty, then this can be part of next step lesson(s). And I mentioned it as plan for future

As it was done by you Mad on I think El Haluf and Mines. I did not mean, it should be part of beginners lesson, as it probably will take much more time then it is planed for this lesson. But maybe it is not needed, if it is part of lessons on maps guiding.

Edit: to boost my ego, I found out, that my M44 is on 27th place of top players by winrate on noobmater side
(Server top by overall vehicle win rate for players recently active (200 battles or more))  

True hehehe I think I spent two hours after the regular lesson for locations and where to get nice shots on at different maps - thats as well probably most interesting

I have not played arty for a long time but I hope to be there to listen if nothing else   

I'll join. I haven't played much arty until recently with the bishop and since yesterday the fv304. I could use some advice on how to use arty with a bit of a shorter range. I used to mostly play the Hummel. See you in class
