Basic - tank companies - every Wednesday - 18:30 UTC

Since there is much doubt about TCs and it is very popular, I will set a weekly training regarding TCs. The training will be about 15 minutes and will only deal with the basics. Afterwards we will take it to practice in Tank Companies.

When? Every Wednesday
Time? 18:30 UTC, 19:30 GMT, 20:30 CET

Disclaimer: Please note that I am a human and not CGI, which means I do have feelings, social life. Hell! I even have a girl friend, who needs some attention too. In case you are unsure what that means, hit this text(it is a link....). I can be tired, have appointments or just do not fancy playing tanks. I will try to arrange, but please be a little bit considerate...


TANK COMPANIES AT SGTA!
Tank companies at SGTA are there to learn about tactics, prepare you for TCs in more professional clans and potentially clan wars.

As FC for JTC I deal with the tanks as they come. So do not let this list stop you. HOWEVER! Owning these tanks will increase the win-chances and the fun in the game. So consider that. Also: you have a bigger chance of being swapped out. Personally subconsiously I do consider tanks choices. (just being honest here...)

FAQ:
Q: Do I need to have all modules?
A: No, but it is recommended. It will increase your own performance and effectiveness, resulting in more fun.

Q: Do I need to have my crew fully trained?
A: No, but it is recommended. It will increase your own performance and effectiveness, resulting in more fun.

Q: Do I need to have consumables?
A: This is one where I would say yes. It is a small investment, which should earn itself back.

Q: Do I need gold / premium shells or consumables?
A: hell no! There is nothing at stake if you lose, so it would be a waste of money. Only noobs go into TCs with clan wars settings.

Q: With all those talks about communications, should I say nothing at all?
A: Of course not. It is meant to be fun. But know when to be quiet. (I have difficulties with this myself.) Most important: do not comment or question an order. You can, however, ask for clarification if you think you (or someone else) misunderstood. But do this after the FC has finished giving commands to everyone, otherwise this will disturb the flow of communication.

Tanks of choice:
Junior TC:
With the rebalance of the arty, you can take 10 tier 4 tanks to get the best effects, rendering lights useless here.
Light: (not recommended)
Medium: Mathilda as main assault, T-28 as sniper
Heavy: (not recommended)
TD: m8a1 (also for scouting), Hetzer DERP!
Arty: Pz.Sfl. IVb, SU-5

1 thing we can still try is to use t1 + SU-26. (Dong760, I welcome your feedback here)

Medium TC
Light: t-50
Medium: Easy8, VK3601, Cromwell
Heavy: KV1s, KV2 (derp)
TD: hellcat, SU-100Y
Arty: M44, LEFH

No Pz3 for JTC anymore?  

Last time I did a MTC I used tier 4 arty instead of tier 6, so I could have the old setup with 1 scout, 2 t4 artys and rest t6 tanks. Worked well enough.

Alas, the poor pz3. I sold my old love... We experienced this in the first JTC after the patch... The Pz3 is really meh since 8.6 anything will pen it from afar. Speed will not safe you. Hetzers will derp-snipe you. I will not refuse PZ3s, but it may reduce the experience of fun for the player.

I will add the arty - scout - combo. But which scout would you recommend now that t-50 is nerfed to death?

If you are talking about "medium companies" then i 'd suggest to play without a scout, Cromwell and Hellcat can do that job for active and passive spotting accordingly.

True, but Vallu was referring to the classic combo with 3 tier 4s (1 scout, 2 arty). So I am wondering which tier 4. I actually agree with you Kostis, basically in the new structure there is hardly a role for tier 4 scouts.

I will attend to this lesson because my post was the reason it started ;-)

@Medium TC Scout: I think Kostis and I did quite well in the Cromwell filling the space of the Scout but yes it has 6 Tier Points viable Options might be: Luchs, Stuart ? Luchs i own but Stuart i will need to grind to give it a try

The reason is that arty is not that useful anymore especially in tier6 companies, in my opinion even 1 arty is more than enough.
Most field commanders would prefer an extra tank than a good player with arty.

Even before the arty patch i was playing with 3 (tier4) arties and and cromwell in scouting duty, now we have 12 spare points and if you ask me i' d prefer two tier 6 tanks they will deal more damage than 2arties or 1tank+1arty

I would really like to participate, but I'm aiming for a Valentine instead of a Matilda, is this tank okay? And what do you feel about AMX 40? It's not really a light tank...seriously... I like my ugly duckling.

The AMX-40 is a light tank(even if it does not feel like one) so the problem is light tanks are limited to tier 3. Also the Valentine counts as a light tank.
But i think i remember you wrote some where that you enjoyed the hellcat on your old account so possibly aim in that direction the M8A1 is a good tank for JTC in my opinion.

How about the T40 for JTC? I got VK36 / KV1S and Hellcat all pimped out for Medium companies, but...

I've never had a Hellcat, tried it on the test server only... I want it, but I don't feel any rush in getting it. I'll see which tank I'll get first, the T-28 or the Hetzer, one of these two. No JTC for me in a while in other words.

JTC = Tier 4. Hetzer with derp will do

That said, the M8A1 *is* immensely fun to play. I have recently rebought one, because it has made a comeback in JTC's.
