I happened to come across Erasdude's WoT Forum thread and found that after applying to SGTA he has decided to apply for KIA2 in the end.

could you identify specific areas that you have problems with? main reason behind asking a certain number of fights is so a certain basic understanding is established of the game, including a sense of what you do not understand about it.

You application looks fine, whether or not our admissions officer will overlook your little short of required battles is up for him to decide.

In the meantime, I'd like to remind you SGTA is an academy on the EU server. As such, we do have a time difference with Hawaii.... and attendance of classes is mandatory unless you can give us a reason why you should occupy a place which can be better suited to a person who will attend class. Please let us know your thoughts on this as I'm sure our admissions officer will want to know too before inviting you. In addition, to play on the EU server, you will need to have the European client for World of Tanks and an active account on it.

i believe i have a good understanding of basic maneuvering and general tactics. but could get better at strategy and map usage. i have 1:1 survive/kill ratio. top gun a couple of times and several other meaningful medals that reflect my good decision making at lower tiers. however often times i do find myself still making bonehead mistakes and unusual or rookie mistakes like shooting from the open and or placing myself in difficult positions that end up being hard to get out of. sometimes things move faster than my mind can comprehend. other times i am on it. could do a lot better at targeting and firing (acquiring and taking out a target). also tank placement is a place i lack as well. so much little details out there that i could learn to make me a more valued tank out in the field.

yeah the reason i applied was i have seen some past applicants with about the same amount of battles or less accepted. i want to learn now before i create or continue to create bad habits. i figure it is worth a shot to make my self better in the game.

Yeah when i was search thru the post i realized i was like the only guy from the US and the furthest state from EU. i understand that i would have to get on the EU server which means a new account. i was already researching that part. i am also looking at the time difference from Hawaii to EU. I understand about taking a position if i can not participate. i am trying to figure all this out so i can be part of something that makes me better.

In the mean while i am going to go thru the forum since i believe that there are still valuable things that i can gain on it.

thanks i have been researching this stuff instead of working. downloading WoT EU version as we speak. hopefully i will be able to connect to EU server once its done. I saw the Circling lesson was at 19:00 UTC. that's 10:00 Hawaii time so some of the lessons are definitely doable. I am excited that i do have a chance or possibility to participate in some of the lessons.

while you were sleeping i downloaded WoT EU. its up and running connected to EU server. Have to start from scratch though. i will grind away to get a couple of tanks capable of doing the classes if i get in. i think i figured out the time difference. if you guys do the lessons in the evening  it will be morning same day here. so things are looking good so far. Not bad for a day of work while at work.

You need to have 1000 battles aproximately with your EU account, as you need to have at least some Tier V and VI (minimum) in order to joinn classes. There are some basic techniques that do not apply in the lower Tiers and we need the students to be able to participate in classes demonstrating these techiniques. This is the reason.

The battles in other accounts do not really matter since joining is not a question of "experience" it is only a question in having the right tanks in your garage so that you can learn some things.

As you will see in our Class section od the forum, most classes begin around 19:00 or 20:00 UTC. If you think that you can keep up with these hours I have no problem considering your application.

I totally understand what you mean. i am on the EU server now and have to start from scratch. I started grinding away tonight just for fun. I realize what you mean about having the right tanks. I am currently on Tier IV on my US account but i found that it doesn't do my any good on the EU since it doesn't transfer.

Yes i could make those times. it would be 9:00-10:00 in the morning which isn't a problem. it is actually the perfect time for me.

What I suggest you do then, is join our Academy HQ channel and grind your lower tiers there with members of the clan that are willing to platoon with you. It is much easier this way.

@GeneralSurfer:

There is the possibility of you asking WoT Support to transfer your US account to the EU client. Thus skipping your grind.

Also, if you are grinding, you can make the grind easier by asking others to platoon with you. Joining the Academy_HQ channel doesn't hurt and increases your chances of finding a platoon.

that was my next step. i have researched that and found that some say that you can't.
i do plan to platoon when i get chances to do so to help with the grind.

i will also attempt to do some of your lessons that don't require higher tiered tanks like you Arty lesson.
