Re: Begin the process...
Okay, I'll do that. I suppose that you can't accept someone only because they claim to have played before (even if it happens to be true in this case), because then people could take advantage of that.Sapaki wrote:Hello,
I am the Admissions officer of the clan. Our new policy is that one needs to have at least 1 to 1.5 k battles prior to joining the clan, since most of the things that you can be taught here are applicable above Tier 4. Therefore my suggestion is that you get some battles under your belt, as many Tier IV and Tier V as you can put your hands on and PM me again to process your application.
Although I do feel you a lot, the learning curve of the game gets much too steep above Tier IV and I almost nearly quit myself at this point. What I suggest you do, is contact me when you see me ingame and I will give you a crash course that will make your life in low tiers a lot easier.
Should you need anything else do not hesitate to contact me.
Regards,
Sapaki
I will! I played with two other guys from the forum before, and if I must say they do really make me want to become a student, they were so good and it was really fun. :DI want to be that good too. If I team up with great people like that often, I'll have tier IV-V in a jiffy.

I'll try to not develop too many bad habits (I already have them from before and they'll probably stick with until someone beat me over the head with a keyboard). Trust me, I won't give up this time 'cause I have something more to aim for than before.Ding760 wrote:Hey Mad!
Listen, despite Sapaki's requirements, getting to 1000 battles is a short ride at low tiers. What I do however suggest you do, is not develop any particular habits until you reach into the academy. Ideally you enter the academy with an open (and blank) mind. Your mindset plays an important role in gameplay, hence if you get your mindset right, that's half the battle won.

Why are you applying to SGTA: Been playing since March 2013. Have a few good games but plenty of bad ones. I want to improve, understand the maps better, understand tactics, understand each tank better (strengths/weaknesses etc) utilise my tanks appropriately depending on strength of tank and type. Starting on the grind to the Centurion's, don't want to spend any more money! Feel I probably should master the mid tiers better. Walk before I can run I suppose! Socialising and making friends with the people I am learning with and from. I watch Quickybaby, Jingles and Sidestrafe....try to pick up tactics for battles,...but tunnel vision and impatience is never too far away! I simply want to improve, and do so with a like minded group of tankers.

Re: Begin the process...
Bertiedootes, you are added to the waiting list.
Being on the waiting list grants you pretty much the status of SGTA student so you can begin to get involved in SGTA activity as from today.
Given your place on the list, you can expect to be a full member of the clan within a month or so (maybe less)
Make sure you read this: https://sgta.forumotion.com/t359-mission-statement
and this: https://sgta.forumotion.com/t120-how-things-work-here-aka-read-this
Welcome aboard

Hi jordan
It's very nice to see someone hoping to join the academy with a firm knowledge of what they need to improve on So hopefully our admissions officer will get to you shortly.
Also, for the 'Previous Clan' section of the application, please indicate the name of your previous clans. This is more of a gauge to see what clans you have been participating in before in order to inform us of what kind of person you are.

Hello TheGame
I am the admissions officer. I would greatly appreciate if you cound re-apply once you have 1-1.5k battles under your belt. What you will be taught here will be much more useful to you if you have reached that battlecount.
Thank you for applying and I am looking forward to receiving your application once you have reached this milestone.
Kind Regards
Sapaki

Re: Begin the process...
Excuse the OT.
A survival rate of 33% may seem bad on it's own, but put in perspective it is not that bad at all.
Seeing as you have a 49% winrate and assuming that a Defeat pretty much means you die that battle, this means you survive about 2/3 of the battles you win. Add to that you may not always be in a very survivable tank, that sometimes you can push a victory by sacrificing yourself (force a push, distract a heavy long enough to be flanked by your team, etcetera) and that most tanks below T6 aren't that survivable in the first place (T5 derp guns can pretty much oneshot anything below their tier for a start), 33% all of a sudden is a very decent survival rate.

Survival rate tells more about the playstyle and preferred tanks. Arty has better survival rate than suicide scouts for example

Why are you applying to SGTA: I've stop developing my skills as quick as I would like to. I'm almost 100% solo player, so I would like to try stuff where things are a bit less random, meaning group play. I have never even been in company before, not mentioning CW. Also I have been a tactical raiding leader in most MMO's I've played and I wish to develop my tactic skill in WoT as well.
I feel quite confident on most of my tanks, however I'm still seeking "my ways" on certain maps, with certain tanks and I need to grow a bit more patience during the battle. Currently trying to start to avoid "traiding damage" as I do that quite often when I'm sure I will win.
Edit. Also I would like to learn enough to aspire to some serious CW oriented clans in the future. Atm my skills are way too poor, but other hand, I already know enough not to apply to a CW clan accepting more less everyone, as I won't learn much there. Also I've learned from few friends playing WoT much longer than myself, that academies of stronger clans aren't really working like they suppose to. SGTA seems to be the perfect place for me at the moment.

Welcome, I think you will like it here, between the Dings and the Dongs you will feel right at home...
